Christopher Stephens

Minister

Meet Christopher Wayne Stephens, a devoted Christian, loving husband, and proud father. His journey in faith began at a young age when he was baptized at the 10th & Ave M Church of Christ under the guidance of Louis Blair. As he grew in his spiritual walk, Christopher discovered his passion for teaching, inspiring him to share his knowledge with his peers during high school and later stepping into the role of a preacher at the age of 21.

His dedication to learning and serving God led him to achieve academic excellence, graduating with distinction from the esteemed Austin Graduate School of Theology (BS) and Lipscomb University (MDiv). In July of 2007, he joyfully embraced the lifelong commitment of marriage to his beloved "Good Thing," Delia (Dee-Luh), who serves as a Sunday school teacher at their church and excels in her profession as a wound care nurse.

Together, Christopher and Delia are blessed with four wonderful daughters: Sirrah (Sear-Ruh), Nadiyah (Nah-Dee-Uh), Tessah, and Niah (Knee-Uh). Their beautiful family stands as a shining example of active involvement within the church community, with each member passionately serving and growing together in faith.

In 2016, Christopher played a pivotal role in planting the Ave G Church of Christ in the vibrant city of Temple, TX. His leadership and dedication have been instrumental in guiding the congregation towards spiritual growth and community outreach.

Outside of his ministerial duties, Bro Stephens indulges in various hobbies that bring him joy and relaxation. A talented singer, he uses his melodious voice to lift hearts in worship. In his leisure time, you can find him engrossed in video games, enjoying movies, and tinkering with electronics. He also finds fulfillment in his role as a teacher at Central Texas Christian School, imparting knowledge and values to the young minds entrusted to his care.

Through his vibrant preaching, Bro Stephens strives to spread the timeless wisdom and love found in the word of God, inspiring individuals to live purposeful and meaningful lives. His deep-rooted faith, combined with his genuine care for others, makes him an influential minister in the Churches of Christ community.
