Word + Walk: Run to the Chariot
✝️ Sermon Recap: Run to the Chariot
Text: Acts 8:26–40
Big Idea: Evangelism isn’t just about baptism, it’s about bold obedience, listening well, and guiding others to Jesus.
I. BE READY TO MOVE WHEN GOD SPEAKS (vv. 26–27)
Obedience unlocks opportunity.
Philip didn’t get the full details; he just heard “Go.”
When God calls, clarity often follows movement.
Reflection: What’s keeping you from rising and going?
II. PERSONAL EVANGELISM CROSSES PERSONAL BOUNDARIES (vv. 27–29)
Don’t let differences delay your witness.
The Ethiopian eunuch was a wealthy, influential outsider.
Philip still stepped into his space.
Reflection: Are you open to Spirit-led encounters that cross social lines?
III. EVANGELISM BEGINS WITH LISTENING (vv. 30–31)
Love listens before it lectures.
Philip didn’t interrupt; he asked a question.
Real evangelism feels like a relationship, not a debate.
Reflection: Do people feel heard or hurried by you?
IV. USE THE WORD, BUT MAKE IT WALK TO JESUS (vv. 32–35)
All Scripture points to Christ.
Philip met him in Isaiah, but led him to Jesus.
Every text has a road to the cross if you know how to walk it.
Reflection: Can you trace your study back to the Savior?
V. AIM FOR MORE THAN BAPTISM—AIM FOR KINGDOM LIVING (vv. 36–40)
Discipleship is duplication.
Baptism isn’t a finish line; it’s a launchpad.
Philip didn’t linger. He trusted God to carry the work forward.
Final Word: You don’t need a title to be a tool. If the Spirit says “Go,” then move.
